Shashish Shami Kamal Wins Prestigious Global Tobacco Index Special Prize in 2024 Global Media Competition Mr. Shashish Shami Kamal, a recipient of the JHSPH-BCCP Tobacco Control Research Grant in 2015, has secured the Global Tobacco Index Special Prize in the Global Media Competition 2024 – Social Reels Challenge. This prestigious prize is awarded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC). Kamal's winning entry, selected from hundreds of submissions across more than 50 countries, stood out in the Global Tobacco Index (GTI) category for its insightful and data-driven exposure of the tobacco industry's practices.
