The Tobacco Control Policy Research Findings Dissemination Conference

The Tobacco Control Research Findings Dissemination Conference will be held on March 20, 2023. Findings of the studies conducted under the Tobacco Control Policy Research Grant Program 2022, and some selected in-country tobacco control studies will be presented at the conference.

Professor Dr. Syed Modasser Ali, Former Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister, Health & Family Welfare and Social Welfare Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; and Chairman, Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) will grace the opening program of the conference as the Chief Guest. National Professor Dr. Brig. (Rtd.) Abdul Malik, President, National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh will grace the opening program of the conference as the Chairperson. Ms. Kazi Zebunnessa Begum, Additional Secretary (WH Wing), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, Director General, Health Economics Unit, Dr. Bardan Jung Rana, WHO Representative to Bangladesh; and Dr. Joanna Cohen, Director, Institute for Global Tobacco Control, Maryland, USA will attend the opening program as Special Guests. Mr. Mohammad Shahjahan, Director & CEO, BCCP, will provide opening remarks at the conference.

Mr. Hossain Ali Khondoker, Coordinator (Additional Secretary), NTCC will grace the closing program of the conference as the Chief Guest. Representatives of in-country BI partner representatives and Dr Sadhana Bhagwat, Team Lead (NCD and Mental Health), WHO Bangladesh, and Dr. Abdillah Ahsan, Coordinator, Indonesian Tobacco Control Research Network (ITCRN) will attend the closing program as Special Guests.

A 6-member Indonesian Tobacco Control Research Network team will also attend the conference.
